Donnie Snyder became Greater Fort Worth FCA Director in January 2006. Prior to that Snyder served as the Greater Dallas FCA Director from 1988-1998 where he worked closely with board chairman, Tom Landry (former Dallas Cowboys Head Coach) to implement all facets of the FCA program. Under his leadership the organization grew in every measurable area.
Snyder is co-author of the book "Tom Landry - Man of Character" along with Ken Horton published by Cross Training Publishing and also helped in the production of and wrote the introduction for the book “More Than Winners”, authored by Craig Massey and published by Cross Training Publishing.
During Donnie’s tenure in Dallas, the Tom Landry FCA Open golf tournament grew to be the largest charity tournament in Texas not associated with a professional golf tour event. Tournament gross revenues exceeded more than three million dollars with an average 88-90% net profit to FCA.
Tom Landry said of Snyder, “It takes a great deal of dedication for anyone to give his life to Christian work. Donnie has sacrificed tremendously to serve the Lord and his leadership enabled the Greater Dallas FCA to expand its staff and program (and maintain its position as the largest FCA program in America).”
Raised in Dallas, Texas, Donnie attended Bryan Adams High School and went on to receive a B.S. in Education from the University of Texas. Excelling as both a high school and collegiate baseball player, Donnie was a member of two American Amateur Baseball Congress national championship teams and one AABC national runner-up during his career.
Snyder was a football coach for five years in the Richardson and Mesquite school districts. He also has over ten years experience in business. Additionally, Snyder was the Western Regional Director for Washington, D.C. based Family Research Council and Regional Major Gifts Director for the American Heart Association
Donnie’s involvement with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes began during his sophomore year of college and continued through his coaching and business career. He has been involved in FCA as an athlete, coach, non-coach volunteer and staff.
With two daughters, Kelly (recently married to Mr. Jordan Regehr) and Jenna who attends the University of Alabama, Snyder is ordained and a member of Willow Bend Church in Plano. |
